The Mage Three
The Mage Three is the encompassing title given to the three gods of magic: Nerevar, Nuria Gaiana, and Sormen. Their home is in the Outlands, where they supposedly all live in towers larger than the Gaiana Tower on the material plane.
It is said that Nerevar was the first to ascend to godhood following the defeat of Boccob. After the war was over and the debris cleared he chose two among all the mages that fought for not only the right to live but for the preservation of magic and somehow granted them divinity as well. They were Sormen and Nuria Gaiana.

Not much is known about Nerevar before the war. There are no records of him existing before it, actually. Its as if he suddenly appeared just to counter Boccob. Nerevar allies himself closest with the demi-god Faydren Adoran as well as Esper. Nerevar teaches that magic is the greatest power in all the cosmos and without it, the most magestic of beings would cease to exist. A world devoid of magic is a tragic world. Unlike his predecessor, Boccob, Nerevar cares about the affairs of his followers. He believes that the pursuit of magic is a great task; he sees the use of magic as the ultimate art. This has led to a greater following than Boccob’s. He believes that magic itself shows no favoritism towards good or evil nor chaos or lawful. His most devout followers are neutral in at least some regard.
